Things To Do:
See kangaroos at Cave Beach
When you’re at Cave Beach, you’ll have the chance to witness kangaroos in their natural habitat. This beach offers an excellent opportunity to observe these iconic animals. During your visit, you may be fortunate enough to witness kangaroos grazing and hopping around the beach and surrounding bushes. Remember to show respect for these creatures and observe them from a safe distance. If you are into camping, you can also camp at Cave Beach. The camping area is set amongst coastal tea trees and is ideal for lightweight camping. Cold showers, freshwater, toilets, and wood barbecues are available. The camping area is approximately 300 meters from the car park.
Swim with Stingrays
At Bendalong Boat Harbour Beach, you have the chance to swim with stingrays. This beach is a hotspot for these majestic creatures, giving you the chance to watch and even interact with them in their own environment. Usually found near the bay’s shorelines, the stingrays gather in shallow waters here. Before diving in, make sure to check with local authorities for the latest guidelines and safety precautions for swimming with stingrays in the area.
Visit Hyams Beach
You’ll find that this beach is renowned for some of the whitest sands globally. The beach itself is stunning, featuring crystal-clear blue waters ideal for both swimming and snorkeling. Additionally, there are some lovely walks nearby if you’re interested in exploring the area. While it may get crowded during peak times, the breathtaking views and serene atmosphere make it completely worthwhile.
Visit Steamers Beach
Make sure you visit Steamers Beach when exploring Jervis Bay! Steamers Beach is a lot less crowded that your average Jervis Bay beach and is often overlooked but it offers stunning views and a real sense of remoteness. The beach is accessible via a scenic walking track through Booderee National Park. Be mindful it finishes with a steep flight of stairs.
Go Dolphin and Whale watching
You can have an incredible experience by going dolphin and whale watching in Jervis Bay. Dolphins are frequently spotted throughout the year, while whales typically migrate through from May to November. Jervis Bay is an ideal location for this activity because of its clean waters, which are beloved by these animals. During my visit, although it was out of season for whale sightings, we still had the pleasure of seeing plenty of dolphins.
Visit Jervis Bay Brewery
When you visit Jervis Bay Brewery, it feels like you’re stepping into a welcoming neighborhood establishment where they brew their own beer. You’ll find a variety of options to sample, ranging from light to dark brews. The staff are incredibly friendly and happy to share insights into the beer-making process if you’re curious. Overall, it’s a great spot to chill out and taste some delicious beer.
