Located on Greece’s southeastern coast, Athens is a city brimming with rich history, vibrant culture, and an energy that’s hard to match. Surrounded by the stunning Mediterranean coastline and the hills of Attica, the city offers a perfect blend of ancient heritage and modern charm. From the iconic Acropolis to the serene beaches along the Athenian Riviera, there’s no shortage of awe-inspiring sights to explore in this dynamic city.

Places To Stay:

Apostolis Windmill
If you’re heading to Mykonos, I absolutely recommend staying at Apostolis Windmill. It’s the perfect spot to kick back and truly experience Greek life. The views of Psarou Beach from your own private balcony are simply breathtaking—this place is a dream. Located in the heart of Mykonos, it’s a great base for exploring the island. The host is incredibly accommodating and even picked us up from the airport, free of charge! Honestly, it felt like a personal touch that made the stay even more special. If you’re looking for a place with an authentic and relaxed atmosphere, this is definitely the one.

Things To Do:

SantAnna Beach Club
For a quintessential Mediterranean experience, SantAnna Beach Club in Mykonos is the place to be. The sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and laid-back vibe make it a perfect spot to spend the day. Whether you want to lounge by the pool, enjoy a fresh seafood dish, or soak in the sun, there’s something for everyone. The beach club transforms into a lively venue in the evening with DJ sets and beach parties. However, be aware that it’s on the pricier side. If you’re looking to save a bit of cash, there’s a local shop just outside where you can grab drinks at a much lower price but still enjoy the beach and venue access. It’s a perfect spot to spend a day or night!

Visit The Famous Mykonos Windmills
You can’t visit Mykonos without seeing the famous windmills. Built in the 16th century, these iconic windmills once ground grain using the island’s strong winds. Today, they’re one of the most Instagrammed spots on the island. I definitely recommend taking some time to soak in the view and snap a few photos. It’s a great place to learn a bit about the island’s history while admiring the stunning vistas.

Walk Around Mykonos Old Town
Mykonos Old Town is a maze of narrow streets lined with classic whitewashed buildings and splashes of blue that scream Mediterranean charm. It’s such a beautiful place to wander around and get lost in. You’ll come across quirky shops, cozy cafes, and, of course, more of those windmills. When the sun sets, it’s the perfect place to grab a drink and relax. The atmosphere in the Old Town, especially in the evening, is so lively and picturesque—you’ll feel like you’re living in a postcard.

Athens

Place To Stay:

Safestay Athens Monastiraki
For your stay in Athens, I recommend Safestay Athens Monastiraki. Located in the heart of the city, it’s a great choice if you want to be close to all the major sights. The best part? The rooftop offers a stunning view of the Acropolis—perfect for catching a sunset or simply soaking in the view of this ancient wonder.

Things To Do:
Visiting the Acropolis is, without a doubt, a must when you’re in Athens. The history and significance of this ancient site are fascinating. As you explore, you’ll learn all about the cultural and architectural marvels that have stood for centuries. The panoramic views of Athens from the top of the Acropolis are absolutely breathtaking, offering a unique perspective of the city’s skyline. It’s not just a tour—it’s a journey through time, and definitely something I recommend to anyone visiting Athens.

Run around Panthinaiko Stadium.
A visit to Panathenaic Stadium (or Kallimarmaro) is another must-see in Athens. This historic stadium, made entirely of marble, is where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896, and its history dates all the way back to the 4th century BC when it hosted the Panathenaic Games. When you’re there, you can walk or run around the track and imagine what it must have been like during the ancient games. It’s an incredible place to soak in some Olympic history while feeling like part of the action.

Athens is a city that perfectly blends ancient history with vibrant, modern energy. Whether you’re exploring the ancient ruins or relaxing by the Mediterranean, there’s always something exciting to discover in this unforgettable city.
