Dublin, Ireland

Located on Ireland’s eastern coast, Dublin is a city that has truly captured my heart. Known for its vibrant culture, rich history, and lively atmosphere, it’s a place that offers a little bit of everything—from stunning landscapes to a buzzing city life. Whether you’re exploring the cobblestone streets or relaxing in one of its cozy pubs, Dublin is a city that invites you to immerse yourself in its charm and warmth.

Places to Stay:

Abbey Court Hostel
If you’re looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay, Abbey Court Hostel is definitely worth considering. I stayed in the 12-bedroom dorm during my time in Dublin, and while it’s not exactly a luxury experience, it’s perfect for those who want a place to crash after a night of exploring. What I loved most about this hostel is its prime location. It’s right by the Liffey River, a short walk from O’Connell Street, and just across the river from the iconic Temple Bar. It’s a great base for exploring the city! Plus, the hostel’s front desk offers reasonably priced day trips, which is super handy if you’re looking to get out of Dublin for a day.

Things to do:

Take a tour at the Guinness factory
A trip to Dublin wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Guinness Storehouse. It’s one of the most popular attractions in the city, and for good reason. The tour takes you through the history and brewing process of Ireland’s most famous beer. I particularly enjoyed the interactive experiences—like learning how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness (it’s harder than you might think!). There’s even a cool room where you can print your face on a Guinness beer! But the highlight for me was definitely the rooftop bar, where you can enjoy your pint while taking in the spectacular views of Dublin. It’s the perfect way to wrap up your visit.

Visit the famous Temple Bar:
No trip to Dublin is complete without stopping by the world-famous Temple Bar. The area is full of lively pubs, local Irish music, and an atmosphere that truly captures the essence of Dublin. Yes, it can get crowded, especially in the evening, but that’s part of the fun. I loved experiencing the mix of locals and tourists all coming together to enjoy the music and laughter. If you happen to be in Dublin around Christmas time, the whole area feels even more magical. It’s one of those places where you’ll find yourself spending hours soaking in the vibe.

Take a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher
If you have an extra day, I highly recommend taking a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher. The cliffs are absolutely breathtaking and, for me, one of the highlights of Ireland. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you’ll recognize the cliffs as part of the iconic locations featured in the films. The tour I went on also stopped in Galway, a charming town where you can experience traditional Irish culture, have a delicious local lunch, and of course, enjoy a cup of Irish coffee. The best part? The cliffs themselves are so stunning, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into another world. And here’s a fun fact: people used to consider this area the ‘edge of the world’ before America was discovered!

Places to eat:

Irish potato cake company
If you’re looking for a delicious and authentic Irish breakfast, make sure to stop by the Irish Potato Cake Company. This little gem is just a short walk from Abbey Court Hostel, making it super convenient. The menu is simple but oh-so-satisfying. I couldn’t resist the classic Irish potato cakes, and trust me, they were a perfect start to my day. They also serve traditional Irish stew, breakfast options, toasties, and a delicious burger. The place is cozy, the staff are friendly, and the food will definitely hit the spot—whether you’re craving a hearty meal or just a quick coffee and snack.

Dublin has so much to offer, whether you’re exploring its historic landmarks or just enjoying a pint at the pub. It’s a city full of life, and I can’t wait to go back and explore even more of what it has to offer.
