Places to Stay:
Abbey Court Hostel
When you’re in Dublin, Abbey Court is one of the hostel options you’ll come across. Staying in the 12-bedroom dorm, you’ll find it’s essentially a place to crash after a night out. But what makes this hostel stand out is its prime location—it overlooks the Liffey River, sits right next to O’Connell St, and is just across the river from the famous Temple Bar. Plus, at the hostel front desk, you’ll find reasonably priced day trip packages available.
Things to do:
Take a tour at the Guinness factory
If you’re in Dublin, you must visit the Guinness factory. You’ll have the opportunity to learn all about the Guinness brewing process and even try your hand at pouring the perfect pint. Printing your faces on a Guinness beer is a cool experience. The factory’s different floors offer various activities, including a gift shop, a cafe, and a room where you can smell different aspects of the beer. However, the ultimate highlight is the rooftop bar, where you can savor another Guinness while soaking in the fantastic view!
Visit the famous Temple Bar:
You can’t visit Dublin without checking out the world-famous Temple Bar. This bar truly is one of a kind, with an amazing vibe. It can get pretty packed in the evening, but it’s definitely worth it to experience the local Irish music, lively atmosphere, and laughter that surrounds the bar, especially if you go around Christmas time. Temple Bar will not disappoint.
Take a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher
If you happen to have an extra day in your itinerary in Dublin, I would highly recommend going on a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher. If you’re a Harry Potter fan or simply love an outstanding view, this is an absolute must and truly a bucket list visit. This specific tour also had another stop on the way, the city of Galway. This was a special treat to experience as the town was very traditional and the perfect spot to get a local Irish lunch and of course an Irish coffee. Fun fact: before America was discovered people consider this area as the ‘edge of the world’

Places to eat:

An absolute must-visit when you’re in Dublin. Not even a minute’s walk from the hostel listed above is this adorable little Irish potato cake restaurant. Their menu is pretty simple with options of potato cakes, Irish breakfast, Irish stew, toasties, and a burger, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. Highly recommend starting off your day with a delicious coffee and a few potato cakes.
