Where to Stay:

Smugglers Cove

If you’re visiting Fiji, Smugglers Cove Beach Resort is a great option to consider. Located on the mainland, it offers an affordable alternative to the more expensive resorts around the island. Situated just a short 15-minute drive from both Nadi International Airport and Port Denarau Marina, the resort is in a perfect location. It’s set right on Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi, making it an ideal starting point for your Fijian adventure.

Beyond the comfortable rooms, the resort is known for its laid-back atmosphere and fun activities like kava tasting and fire shows. Island Hopping
Exploring Fiji’s islands is a must, and South Sea Cruises makes it easy to do so. With a variety of day trips and island transfers departing from Port Denarau, you can visit stunning locations like South Sea Island, Malamala Beach Club, and other remote islands. South Sea Cruises also offers access to the gorgeous Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, providing an easy and scenic way to explore Fiji.

Mantaray Island
One of my favorite spots during my time in Fiji was Mantaray Island, located in the Yasawa Islands. It’s about a 3-3.5 hour trip from Port Denarau, and a return ticket with South Sea Cruises costs around $398 FJD. Mantaray Island is famous for its incredible coral reefs, making it a top destination for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. And if you’re visiting between May and October, you may even get the chance to swim with manta rays, which is an unforgettable experience!

At Mantaray Island Resort, there’s a wide range of accommodation options, from traditional Fijian bures to beachfront villas and budget-friendly dormitory rooms. No matter your preference, you’ll feel right at home on this stunning island.

Important information:
When staying at Mantaray Island Resort, you’ll need to book their compulsory meal package. This costs $139 FJD per person per day and includes three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Sunrise Hike
For early risers, the Sunrise Hike is an amazing activity. Leaving around 5:30 am, you’ll hop on a boat that will take you to another island, where you’ll start your hike. With a local guide, you’ll make your way to the top for a panoramic view of the surrounding islands and crystal-clear reefs.

If you’re visiting during the manta ray season (May-October), you might be lucky enough to swim with these incredible creatures. Mantaray Island staff keep a lookout for their arrival and alert guests with a conch shell. When you hear it, head to the water, and you’ll be whisked away to the channel for an unforgettable snorkeling experience.

Sabeto Hot Spring & Mud Pool
Before you head home, don’t miss the chance to visit the Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pool, just 20 minutes from Nadi International Airport. Locals believe the sulphur in the hot springs has healing properties, making it a popular spot for relaxation. After a rejuvenating dip in the mud baths, you can treat yourself to a full-body massage, which is the perfect way to wrap up your trip to Fiji.

Make sure you take:
