Places To Stay:

Huskisson Beach Motel
For a relaxed and affordable stay, I highly recommend the Huskisson Beach Motel. It’s right next to some of the most beautiful beaches in the area, so you’ll have easy access to the coastline and clear waters. The rooms are simple but comfortable, equipped with everything you need for a great stay without breaking the bank. The best part is that it’s located in the heart of Huskisson, which means you’re just a short walk from shops, restaurants, and other attractions. The staff here are super friendly and always ready to help. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, convenient base to explore Jervis Bay, this is definitely the place to stay.

Things To Do:

See kangaroos at Cave Beach
One of the most memorable experiences in Jervis Bay was getting to see kangaroos in their natural habitat at Cave Beach. This beach is a great spot to catch a glimpse of these iconic Aussie animals, and if you’re lucky, you’ll see them grazing and hopping around the beach and surrounding areas. Be sure to keep a respectful distance and enjoy the wildlife from afar. If you’re into camping, Cave Beach also offers a camping area nestled among coastal tea trees, which is perfect for lightweight camping. There are basic facilities, like cold showers, freshwater, toilets, and wood barbecues available, making it a comfortable spot for an overnight stay. The camping area is about 300 meters from the car park, giving you a peaceful escape right by the beach.

Swim with Stingrays
For an unforgettable aquatic experience, head to Bendalong Boat Harbour Beach, where you’ll have the chance to swim with stingrays. These graceful creatures gather in the shallow waters near the shore, and if you’re lucky, you might even get to interact with them in their natural habitat. Before jumping in, though, make sure to check with the local authorities for safety guidelines and updates on the best practices for swimming with stingrays. It’s a truly magical experience being so close to such incredible marine life.

Visit Hyams Beach
If you’re looking for the whitest sand you’ve ever seen, you need to visit Hyams Beach. Known for having some of the whitest sands globally, this beach is a paradise for anyone who loves the ocean. The water is crystal-clear and perfect for swimming or snorkeling. The surrounding area also offers some lovely walking trails if you feel like exploring. It can get a little crowded during peak times, but trust me, the stunning views and peaceful vibes make it more than worth it.

Visit Steamers Beach
If you’re after a quieter, more secluded beach experience, Steamers Beach should be on your list. It’s much less crowded than the other popular beaches around Jervis Bay, offering a sense of remoteness and tranquility. You’ll have to hike to get there, following a scenic track through Booderee National Park. The hike ends with a steep set of stairs down to the beach, but the stunning views make it totally worth it. It’s a perfect spot to relax and enjoy some quiet time by the water.

Go Dolphin and Whale watching
Dolphin and whale watching in Jervis Bay is a must-do activity, especially if you love wildlife. Dolphins are frequently spotted in the bay year-round, and if you’re visiting between May and November, you might even catch sight of migrating whales. Jervis Bay’s clean, calm waters are a favorite for these magnificent creatures, and the chance to see them up close is a truly special experience. During my visit, even though it was out of season for whales, I was lucky enough to spot a pod of dolphins playing in the water. It’s one of those moments that you’ll never forget.

Visit Jervis Bay Brewery
After a day of exploring, a stop at Jervis Bay Brewery is a great way to unwind. It’s the perfect spot to relax with a cold beer and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. The brewery offers a variety of craft beers, from light and crisp to rich and dark, so there’s something for everyone. The staff are super friendly and happy to share stories about the brewing process, which is a nice touch if you’re a beer enthusiast. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy a few drinks, and soak in the chill vibes of the area.

Jervis Bay truly offers something for everyone, whether you’re into wildlife, hiking, or just soaking up the beauty of one of the most pristine coastal regions in Australia. Whether you’re out swimming with stingrays, exploring quiet beaches, or enjoying a craft beer after a day of adventures, it’s hard not to fall in love with this place. It’s the perfect destination for those who want to experience nature at its best, with a little bit of adventure thrown in.
